Common-mode chokes suppress noise for current up to 15 A

September 26, 2025 By Redding Traiger Leave a Comment

Bourns, Inc. announced its SRF7038A Series AEC-Q200 compliant, automotive-grade common-mode chokes. The new high current chokes feature an extended current capability up to 15 A and a broad impedance range of 70 to 3000 ohms. These features make the SRF7038A an excellent power line Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) suppression solution for use in consumer, industrial, and automotive systems.

Furthermore, the SRF7038A Series helps resist electrical breakdown due to high voltage stress with its sector-wound configuration that enhances dielectric strength between windings. Plus, the series’ ferrite core construction with a closed loop magnet path provides greater magnetic shielding for low radiation that supports improved noise suppression. These high-current chokes also have an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +125 °C.

The Bourns SRF7038A Series automotive-grade, AEC-Q200 compliant common mode chokes are available now through Bourns’ authorized distribution partners, and are RoHS* compliant and halogen free**.
