Making oscillators for cell apps and the Internet of Things
Crystek Corp. had a variety of crystal oscillators at IMS. To get crystal oscillators operating at about 600 MHz and higher, the usual approach is to configure the crystal in an inverted mesa. The center of the crystal is chemically etched to thin it. An outer ring is thicker and serves as a support. Thus the center becomes a very-high-frequency resonator. CTS also had SAW-based oscillators and timing modules at IMS.
