Manual-actuated QFN24 socket supports solderless device evaluation

December 3, 2025 By Redding Traiger Leave a Comment

Ironwood Electronics has released a test socket designed for QFN24 devices that uses a double-latch manual actuator. The socket is intended to support device evaluation, characterisation, screening, and other lab or production-adjacent test workflows where repeatable contact and quick device changeover are required.

The double-latch actuation mechanism is designed to apply controlled compression during clamping, helping maintain consistent electrical contact across repeated insertions. This can reduce contact variability during bring-up and debug, and can also support more consistent results in functional testing where fixture repeatability influences measurement stability.

The socket format is intended to simplify integration into test hardware by providing a mechanical interface that supports frequent device loading and unloading without soldering the DUT. This approach can shorten iteration cycles during hardware validation and reduce rework when devices need to be swapped during test and failure analysis.

Additional product details, drawings, and ordering information are provided on the product page linked in the release.
