Thermal system supports low-power devices under 10 W load

October 17, 2025 By Aimee Kalnoskas Leave a Comment

Ironwood Electronics has introduced the Imperium line of thermal control systems designed for temperature characterization of semiconductor devices across a range of −55 °C to +155 °C. The initial model supports devices with power dissipation below 10 W and achieves a temperature ramp rate of 80 °C per minute. The system is engineered to maintain a compact form factor and low electrical demand for laboratory or production environments.

The Imperium system accommodates devices up to 60 mm × 60 mm and can interface with both socketed and soldered packages. All test operations are integrated within the unit to streamline setup and minimize handling variation. A quick-disconnect thermal head enables fast transition between test platforms, supporting multiple device types or configurations with a single unit.
